5 Ways to Incorporate the Rose Quartz Comb into Your Self-care Routine

March 30, 2019

One of the most important things we value at Maggie Wu Studio is your well-being. Self-care is a topic we cover often because we believe every single woman deserves to dedicate time to herself. Maybe your job requires really long work hours, maybe you’re a mother, maybe you’re still figuring out who you want to be, or maybe you’re all of the above simultaneously – no matter how little time you think you may have, you are worth every minute that you can and will put aside to take good care of yourself, whether it is your self-care for your body or mind.

Our Celebrate You Self-Care Set, featuring the Amed Silk Eye Mask and the Rose Quartz Roller, has been a hit since it launched. And we recently added a new member to our rose quartz family – the Rose Quartz Comb. Some of you may wonder: “A comb is a comb, what does that have to do with self-care?” Not to be confused with your regular comb, this rose quartz comb is designed specifically for massaging the scalp for relaxation, reducing fatigue and hair rejuvenation. A scalp massager and a gua sha tool, we use it to stimulate the scalp & release tension for getting a head start in the morning or deep relaxation for a restful sleep at night.

We are sharing 5 different ways you can incorporate our rose quartz comb into your self-care routine:

Use it in the shower
On days when you have a lot of hair product in, apply conditioner before your wash your hair, and use the rose quartz comb to comb through your hair. This helps distribute the conditioner evenly on your hair and helps ensure products are rinsed off.

Massage your scalp with scalp oil before shower for a pampering treatment
Our #bosslady Maggie likes to use the comb to massage her scalp with oil that nourishes her scalp. She applies the Kiehl’s Magic Elixer onto her scalp, and massage it with the comb by brushing the comb in various directions. A healthy scalp promotes hair growth and stronger hair. The is a nice & relaxing experience to do at home before shower.

Massage your scalp with leave-in scalp conditioner after shower
Most people forget that healthy hair starts with healthy scalp. While many people would use conditioner on their hair regularly, not many remember to also condition their scalp. We recommend using a leave-in scalp conditioner after showering & drying your hair. Gently massage the conditioner into your scalp with our rose quartz comb after you apply the conditioner.

A dry massage works, too
If you’re short on time and would like to massage your scalp more often, try using a pressing motion to gently stimulate your scalp. Gently work the comb across the scalp in sections to release tension and increase scalp circulation: rub small, gentle circles from the crown of the head to either side of the scalp toward your ears. This is a great way to de-stress.

It can transform into a neck massager
Sometimes, we like to use the comb as a neck massager to help with lymphatic drainage. With some body oil or lotion, gently work the comb from the top of your neck behind your ears down to your shoulders. This is a great way to release tension from tensed muscles, which we can easily get from sitting at a desk and typing all day long.

Rose quartz channels a sense of peace, clears negativity and instills a sense of self-love and inner calm. Hence why we believe it is great when it comes to incorporating it in self-care routines. Our goal is to provide you the opportunity to fill your body and mind with nothing but wellness and positivity.
